Terms

Terms of use

In effect since September 16, 2026.

These terms apply to the Mialera app on iPhone and on Android. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, simply do not use it, and deleting the app ends everything on your side.

What Mialera does

Mialera measures your screen time and helps you hold the apps you choose, by daily time or by schedule. When a cap is reached, the app covers that app's screen with a notice until the end of the agreed period.

What blocking guarantees, and what it does not

This section exists because the difference is real and you deserve to know before you trust the app.

On iPhone, blocking uses Apple's Screen Time. What stops the app from opening is the system itself, and the block stays in force even with Mialera closed.

On Android, there is no equivalent function offered by the system to ordinary apps. Mialera detects which app is open and draws a screen on top of it, and that depends on three permissions you grant and can revoke at any time in the device settings. Revoking any one of them, force stopping Mialera or uninstalling it stops the block at once. The app warns you when it notices this has happened, but it has no way to prevent it.

On neither platform does Mialera promise to absolutely prevent the use of an app. It is a catch against impulse, not a tool for controlling yourself or other people.

Mialera is not a health service

The app does not diagnose, does not treat and does not replace professional care. If screen use is affecting your sleep, your work or your wellbeing in a way you cannot manage, seek a health professional.

Mialera+ subscription

Mialera is free and stays free. Mialera+ is an optional subscription that raises limits, such as the number of goals and session presets. The list of what changes appears inside the app, on the subscription screen, before any charge.

If the subscription ends, nothing is deleted: whatever goes beyond the free limits stays stored and paused, and comes back whole if you subscribe again.

The subscription is tied to the store account it was made on. Without a Mialera account, a subscription made on the App Store is not recognized on Google Play, and vice versa. With a Mialera account, Mialera+ follows the account and works on the phone where it is active.

Optional account

Mialera does not require an account. If you create one, it takes your progress and Mialera+ to another phone, and it works on one phone at a time: signing in on another device disconnects the previous one, which keeps the data it has. The account is for people aged 13 and over. What it keeps, and for how long, is in the privacy policy. You can delete it at any time inside the app; that erases the account and the backup, and does not cancel the subscription, which stays with your store account.

Use of the app

You receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use Mialera on your devices. You agree not to copy, modify, decompile or try to extract the app's code, nor to use it to monitor, restrict or control another person without their knowledge.

Content and ownership

The Mialera name, the mascot Bento, the visual identity, the texts and the code are owned by the developer. Using the app does not transfer any of those rights.

Availability and changes to the app

Mialera is offered as is. We do our best for it to work well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, mainly because the app depends on operating system features that may change without notice. Features may be changed or discontinued; changes that affect what you have already contracted for will be communicated inside the app.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Brazilian law, the developer is not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of or the inability to use the app, such as loss of productivity, of data kept only on the device or consequences of a block that did not work as expected. This limitation does not set aside liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence, nor the rights the Código de Defesa do Consumidor guarantees you.

Privacy

The handling of your data is described in the Privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

Termination

You end your use at any time by deleting the app. We may end access for anyone who violates these terms, and in that case amounts already paid and not enjoyed are refunded in proportion to the remaining period.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Relevant changes are announced inside the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Mialera after that means you agree to the new version.

Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. The courts of the consumer's place of residence are the elected venue to settle any matter, as provided by the Código de Defesa do Consumidor.
